MuseScore ~ Music Notation Software

Have to try this out... (Updates From-Top-Down)

I google for 'best free music notation software' and got this...

Update: 2010Feb03, 1403hrs
Had problems with sound only for the top staff and 'No Sound' for the rest at the bottom. Example, Soprano line got sound while Alto, Tenor & Bass got no sound. These links help solve the problem.

Looks promising but there's a lot to learn. I remembered how long it took for me to learn my last notation software. I feel like returning to the old one but that one will cost a few hundred dollars.

If you just got started, you may want to start right away with the 0.9.6 beta1 release which you can download here. It has been much improved from 0.9.4 and it will play all instruments.
