Wonton Noodles ~ at Shun Fu Market (Our Favourite)

I've been eating this almost every morning for years, faithfully from his stall. His name is Mr Lam, and in the picture below is his wife Mrs Lam who serves the customers while he cooks the noodles.

I normally order, 'Wonton Mee, Dry, a lot of Chili and NO Charsiew', Hong Kong Style.

Best is his Wonton Dumplings, Crunchy Noodles, Chili Padi Paste, & Soup (in the mornings only). I would give the Char Siew a miss which my wife might disagree.

They serve it with Black Sauce also if you like.

Most of all I like his attitude. I've seen him when it was tough going but he still took pride in his cooking and made a good plate of wonton noodle. He pressed on every morning till afternoon until he moved to Shun Fu Market. Now his business is very brisk from Breakfast to Lunch.

Flaky Tau Sa Pia ~ Chop Mui Lee Pte Ltd ~ Sweet Bean Paste

This must be the best Flaky Tau Sa Pia I've tasted yet.

I just had this for breakfast this morning... 3 pieces. My wife bought it from the factory address listed below.

This Flaky Tau Sa Pia is small in size,
just nice for me to pop a whole piece in my mouth;
this lessens an un-avoidable mess from the flakes that fall off easily.

However, when there's time,
I'd eat it over a plate, and after having finished it,
I'd pick up each flake left behind with a moist finger
and leave a nice clean plate, ready for the next one.

I normally don't like Prawn Crackers, but I do like this Brand, and the Hot & Spicy one shown on the Extreme Left.

I think it is being sold in Cold Storage (Click Here) & BEN FOODS (S)S PTE LTD (Click Here). Have you been to BEN FOODS Supermarket? Looks interesting on the website.

According to another BLOG (Click Here), it was sold in NTUC but not anymore.

Dearest Friends,
The best prawn crackers would be Haton's wasabi flavoured prawn crackers. The fact that its wasabi flavor is neither too strong nor too light, where instances of "burning sensations" occurs when the prawn crackers are flavored too much with wasabi, or too tasteless if its seasoned too lightly. Haton's prawn crackers are inexpensive, tasty and very addictive. It is crunchy, and explodes into a flavorful burst of wasabi which taste lingers on for a moment. It is a normal routine for me to finish in a packet in 30 minutes or less; especially when i am studying. But who cares if i finish it so quickly because a packet only costs 90 cents in its full size? However, after searching 15 mins for Haton prawn crackers in NTUC, i decided to approach the lady and only to know that it has been "deleted" from NTUC to my dismay. So goodbye Haton, and i hope to see you in NTUC soon. Someday soon. If any of you find it anywhere in Singapore, please leave a comment and i will be catching the first bus to get it. thank you.

• Removing Stubborn Ink Stains
►1 ~ As soon as the ink stain is discovered, use a tissue paper to blot off as much ink from the stained area as possible.
