Abraham ~ Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham

Abraham (Hebrew: אַבְרָהָם, Arabic: إبراهيم‎, Ibrāhīm) is the founding patriarch of the Israelites, Ishmaelites, Edomites, and the Midianites and kindred peoples, according to the book of Genesis. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are sometimes referred to as the "Abrahamic religions" because of the progenitor role that Abraham plays in their holy books. In both the Jewish tradition and the Quran, he is referred to as "our Father". Jews, Christians, and Muslims consider him father of the people of Israel. For Jews and Christians this is through his son Isaac, by his wife Sarah; for Muslims, he is a prophet of Islam and the ancestor of Muhammad through his other son Ishmael, born to him by Sarah's handmaiden, Hagar. Regardless of Who, Where or What...

Be Thankfull!

Someone sent me this via email today…

Regardless of who we are, where we are, what we are doing… we know that it is God’s will that we are who we are. We should be very thankful for the many blessings He showers on us; be it big or small. He has plans for all of us and He will see His plans through… this, I believe.

Trails & Tribulations of a Selfless Person

A selfless person going through their own trials & tribulations is an inspiration to all who witness their goodness. ~ PGA

Prayer for Selfless People who Suffer
(Version 3 ~ Friday, 2010 May, 0830hrs)

We pray for a special group of people who pray for others despite suffering the pain of their own illness, trials and sufferings. May their Christ-like attitude to their own sufferings comfort them and ease their pain as they pray daily for others in need of prayers . A selfless person going through their own trials & tribulations is an inspiration to all who witness their goodness; however, we pray that you take this cup from them; yet not our will, but yours --- be done. Amen.

Daily Family Evening Prayer

I received this via email in 2005 Sep 12, and have paraphrased it for anyone who'd like to use it.

Daily Family Evening Prayer
2005 Sep 12

Take a moment to relax your mind and humble your heart to focus on Christ. Allow God to be the only person on your mind during this prayer. Families, who pray together, stay together.

Dear Lord, we thank you for this day! We’re blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for us and You keep on blessing us. We pray for each and every person in this household.

Forgive us this day for everything we have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.. we ask now for Your forgiveness. Help us to start tomorrow with a better attitude towards Christian living. Let us make the best of each and every day. Clear our minds so that we can hear from You. Please keep us safe from all danger and harm.

Broaden my minds so we can accept all things. Let us not whine and whimper over things we have no control over. Let us continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when we sin, let us repent, and confess with our mouths our wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.

And when this world closes in on us, let us remember Jesus' example -- to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best response when we’re pushed beyond our limits. We know that when we can't pray, You listen to our hearts. Continue to use us to do Your will.

Continue to bless us that we may be a blessing to others. Keep us strong that we may help the weak. Keep us uplifted that we may have words of encouragement for others. We pray for those who are lost and can't find their way. We pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. We pray for those who don't know You intimately. We pray for those who don't believe.

We believe that God changes people and God changes things. We pray for each and every family member in their households. We pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.

This is our prayer, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
