Travian ~ Online Game

"It has been a wild year. . . will probably NOT be coming back to this game again. Real life takes precedence. It will be nice to be able to turn the computers off at the end of the day. . . ;-) Oh and sleep. That is something we've been lacking recently too."

Travian is a browser game featuring a world with thousands of other real players. One begins the game acting as a chief of a tiny village.

Dear Travian players,

The sun was already rising, but still the workers of the metropolis 1.01 Athaja kept on working to finish their prodigious monument. Around 05:25 am/pm a worker finished the greatest and most formidable building in Travian history since the downfall of the Natarian Empire.

Together with their alliance, "Red Dawn", "myyrkezaan" was the first to finish the construction using millions of resources and protecting it with hundreds of thousands of brave defenders and thus receives the title "winner of this era".

In the end, "dmolla", was the ruler over the greatest empire followed shortly by "Rickroll" and "iPwn".

The mightiest and most fearsome commander was "titmouse", and "Slugbo" was the most glorious defender who slaughtered enemy hosts at his gates staining the lands around his villages with their blood.

We, the Travian-Team, want to thank you who stayed until the end for your overwhelming loyalty and the understanding that you showed us when something wasn't running as smooth as it should have.

Best regards,
Your Travian-Team

It was a pleasure playing with the people in my alliance and our Meta. Thank you all for the support you gave hubby, a.k.a. Slugbo, in his quest to make certain that KGB (a.k.a Red Dawn) was not the only alliance with a leveled up WW at end game. He could not have done it without all of you.

It has been a wild year. Slugbo and I will probably not be coming back to this game again. Real life takes precedence. It will be nice to be able to turn the computers off at the end of the day. ;-) Oh and sleep. That is something we've been lacking recently too.

Congrats Ken for getting the highest defender. I as well will not be returning to Travian. Real life does take priority over a game for sure. I am following your blog and will keep in touch through here and your e-mail. Big hugs still coming your way :)

Complete this Energy Boot Camp and you’ll find yourself more determined to stick to a weight-loss routine.

THE rich and the famous have celebrity personal trainers to whip them into shape. For the rest of us, the next best thing is to enroll in Willow Stream Spa’s Energy Boot Camp.

What has a luxury spa at Fairmont Singapore to do with a hardcore boot camp? Trevor Studd, director of Willow Stream Spa, believes that taking part in the Energy Boot Camp will help you find the energy to grow and develop further.

Thankfully, that growing bit has nothing to do with your body weight. On the contrary, the Energy Boot Camp is a one month, 12-session exercise regimen that will grow your endurance threshold and motivate you in keeping to whatever weight-loss resolutions you may have made at the beginning of the year.

Pay $350 and get coached on a series of light exercises, agility drills and martial arts by Willow Stream Spa’s fitness trainers.

There’s a catch, though. You have to sign up for and complete all 12 sessions — which works out to less than $30 per session. Roping in a buddy and egging each other on may be a wise decision in this case.

And if you are usually still asleep at 8.30am, it’s time to shake up your sleep routine. That’s because these sessions take place from 7am to 8am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for four consecutive weeks.

But after the pain comes the pleasure. Willow Stream Spa non-members who finish the entire course of Energy Boot Camp will be rewarded with a 60-minute Relaxation massage worth more than $140.

And of course, you’ll also be amply rewarded with what Trevor describes as “increased stamina, heightened discipline and a great sense of achievement”.

For enquiries and reservations, call 6431 5600 or email willowstream.enquiries@fairmont.com

Subject: SmarterMusic for A Cappella Arranging Message:

Fellow a cappella-ite,When I was first learning to arrange collegiate a cappella music, there was a distressing lack of resources available: my group had few arrangers, and I was told to just go do it, no help whatsoever. What's more, there was very little sharing of information between groups.

In the name of goodwill and learning, I'm trying to develop an online Guide to A Cappella Arranging, including free arrangements: http://www.smartermusic.us/a-cappella-arranging/

If you're an established group with a proud tradition of excellent arranging, I'd very much enjoy having a conversation or two with your best arrangers and share some effective techniques! If you're a new group or have people interested in learning to arrange, I urge you to send them over to the website.

The site is still being built, with plenty more posts/pages on theway. With some luck (and if there's enough interest), I hope we canimprove the quality of collegiate a cappella arranging nationwide --which would certainly be excellent for everybody! Please drop me an email or give me a call if you're interested or just have a crazy idea bouncing around.
