Joke - Her Husband's Temper

===.
.
.

A woman goes to the Doctor, worried about her husband's temper.

The Doctor asks: "What's the problem?

The woman says: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every day my husband seems to lose his temper for no reason, and it scares me."

The Doctor says: "I have a cure for that. When it seems that your husband is getting angry, just take a glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow it until he either leaves the room or goes to bed and falls asleep."

Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor, looking fresh and reborn.

The woman says: "Doctor that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband
started losing it, I swished with water. I swished and swished, and he calmed right down! How does a glass of water do that?"

The Doctor says: "The water itself does nothing. It's keeping your mouth shut that does the trick...."

A lovely story that's helpful for Anger Management.

~~~
A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled 'n asked.
'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'
'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint
Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .
'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.
What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'
The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper 'n they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other 'n that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'
He looked at his disciples and said.
'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.'
GIF ~ Sticky Man ~ Frustration ~ Banging My Head On The Wall
'Why must people be so irritating?'
Sigh! Never mind... I get to practice my Humility... but...
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble,
when I'm perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror,
I get better looking each day.
To know me is to love me,
I must be a hell-of-a-man.
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble,
but I'm doing the best that I can.
Here are the lyrics:
'It's Hard To Be Humble' ~ by Mac Davis'
Mac: (spoken)
Back a few months ago, I was headlinin' a great big nightclub...
and they put me up a couple days early, I came in a couple days early
and they put me up in what they call the "Star Suite",
now here I am, headlinin' in one of the biggest nightclubs
in the country and I wake up at eight o'clock in the morning
in this "Star Suite"... ...all by myself.
Crowd: Awwww.
Mac: Yeah, that's what I said, "Awwwww."
But I did what I've always done, man, to cheer myself up,
I picked up my guitar, I sat down and I wrote me a little song.
Now this is how it feels to be alone at the top of the hill,
tryin' to figure out why.
(sung)
Chorus:
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble / When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror / Cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me / I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble / But I'm doin' the best that I can!
I used to have a girlfriend / But I guess she just couldn't compete
With all of these love-starved women / Who keep clamoring at my feet
Well I could probably find me another / But I guess they're all in awe of me
Who cares? I never get lonesome / Cause I treasure my own company.
Ohhhhhh..... (Chorus:)
I guess you could say I'm a loner / A cowboy outlaw, tough and proud
Well, I could have lotsa friends if I wanted, / But then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd
Some folks say that I'm "egotistical", / Hell, I don't even know what that means!
I guess it has something to do with the way / That I fill out my skin-tight blue jeans
Ohhhhhh........
come on, where's all the kickers in here?! (Chorus:)
(Ending:)
One more time, what are we doin'?
We're doing the best that we can!
Give yourselves a hand. Yeeee-haw!
Being Angry Versus Being Cruel
I've learnt that...
"Sometimes, when I'm angry,
I have the right to be angry, but that
does NOT give me the right to be cruel."
Bitterness, Fear, Hope & God
Someone sent me this via email.
This is what I learnt today.
~~~.
Bitterness Is Fear In Disguise
With ref to ~ Ephesians 4:17–31 (scroll down below)

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander,
along with every form of malice." ~ Ephesians 4:31

It's just not fair!'
~ says the 8-year-old when his parents say they can't afford to buy him a Nintendo DS;
~ and the 18-year-old X Factor hopeful as she's voted out of the competition;
~ and the 28-year-old computer programmer when his application for promotion is turned down for a second time;
~ and the 38-year-old woman when yet another month has passed and she's still not pregnant;
~ and the 48-year-old who finally gives up on her hope of getting married;
~ and the 58-year-old who is made redundant years before he is ready to retire;
~ and the 68-year-old whose children and grandchildren move to Australia without her;
~ and the 78-year-old who is forced to sell her house to pay for her care;
~ and the 88-year-old who fears she will die alone. It's just not fair.

'Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life',
says Solomon in the Book of Proverbs (13:12).

A sick heart can eventually turn into a bitter heart, and a bitter heart into a twisted one. Bitterness takes root when we give in to the fear that our deepest desires will never be met – and we hold it against God. So can a bitter heart ever be made sweet again? Yes, but we need to forgive and we need to let go of our unfulfilled hopes, dreams and disappointments. I don't know why God doesn't sometimes grant us our heart's desire – and, indeed, it doesn't seem fair that other people get the thing we want most. But I do know that God asks that He be our heart's desire above all else. If we put Him first we will never be disappointed.

'Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and he will give you everything you need' (Matt. 6:33, NLT).

Instructions for Christian Living

17 ~ So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
18 ~ They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
19 ~ Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
20 ~ That, however, is not the way of life you learned
21 ~ when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.
22 ~ You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23 ~ to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
24 ~ and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 ~ Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
26 ~ "In your anger do not sin"[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 ~ and do not give the devil a foothold.
28 ~ Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
29 ~ Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
30 ~ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 ~ Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Here's why we need to control our anger...

Anger makes us vulnerable. It is very easy for others to manipulate us when we're angry. We need to control our anger. We need to practice control every time we get angry. By conscientiously making an effort to control our anger each time we get angry, we will definitely improve our Anger Management.

~~~
I've learned that...
Anger makes us emotional and biased,
and unable to empathize or think rationally.
Be very careful while you're angry because...
It is very easy to manipulate angry people.
Driving ~ How Would You React? Which Would You Like To Be?
~~~

Driving
How Would You React?
Which Would You Like To Be?

The Event:
You are driving on a 1-Lane-2-Way road and in front of you is a car that slows down.
You look in front of the car and see no reason for the car to slow down.
You think that the driver has forgotten to switch on his hazard lights to let you know he's stopping.
You try to overtake.
Before overtaking you check for on-coming vehicles.
You proceed to overtake when oncoming traffic is clear.
As you are overtaking, he suddenly speeds up... so you're forced to reduce your speed to get back behind him.

Reaction of Driver A:
{Driver is speaking out loud, angrily}
WHY IS HE SLOWING DOWN!
THERE'S NOTHING IN FRONT OF HIM!
STUPID FELLOW!
OK LA! I OVERTAKE!
WHAT?!
WHY IS HE SPEEDING UP NOW!
HE'S TRYING TO BE FUNNY!
WHAT'S HIS PROBLEM!
SO IRRITATING!
HE'S SO STUPID!
{By now this driver is in a awful rage}

Reaction of Driver B:
{Driver is thinking to him self or speaking softly}
hmm... why is he slowing down.
maybe he wants to stop.
he should switch on his hazard lights to warn others.
i'll have to make a note to remember to do this if I were to be in his shoes.
ok, i'm going to overtake... must be careful to check oncoming traffic.
ok, oncoming traffic is clear so I'll overtake.
oh no, he's speeding up... I better get back behind him.
i don't understand that fellow... but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
{Driver manages to remain calm all the way}

Waiting For The Bus At A Taxi-Stand

I received this via email today...

(from the book of "THE COMPLETE LIVE AND LEARN AND PASS IT ON") "I've learned that..ONE SHOULD NOT WAIT FOR THE TRAIN AT THE BUS STOP.." ~ age 48

Well, I've never waited for a train at a bus-stop but I have waited for a bus at a taxi-stand once. They were just next to each other. When the bus came, I flagged it and I saw the bus-driver looking at me but kept on going. I thought he was very rude and I wasn't happy with what he was doing. He stopped so far ahead of me and I was furious until I noticed that I was at the taxi-stand while he stopped at the bus-stop ahead of the taxi-stand. My face from red with anger, remained red with embarrassment as I boarded the bus. I've mellowed over the years and try my best not to get so angry so quickly. It's easier now that I'm older coz when I get angry, there's a slight pain in my chest as a warning.

The Anger Ladder ~ by Dr. Ross Campbell

.
Although written for parents and teenagers, anyone can use this Anger Ladder to improve their Anger Management.

We should all strive to achieve the first 2 rungs of the Anger Ladder. Which is '1' ~ Pleasant behavior; & '2' ~ Seeking resolution to the conflict; Dr Campbell suggests that we find out where we are on the Anger Ladder and move up one rung at a time.

The worst way for anyone to handle anger is through passive-aggressive (or PA) behavior. In PA behavior, a person uses indirect means to get back in anger at another person — for example, procrastinating, stubbornness, intentional inefficiency and “forgetfulness.” The person acts in these ways to provoke anger. A PA person refuses to accept responsibility for his or her own behavior.

Note that PA is at number '15' which is worst than '13' ~ Emotionally destructive behavior; & '14' ~ Physical abuse; because it is not easily noticed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Anger Ladder ~ by Dr. Ross Campbell
(taken from his book 'How to Really Love Your Teenager')
1) Pleasant behavior;
2) Seeking resolution to the conflict;
3) Focusing anger on the source only;
4) Holding to the primary complaint, not to peripheral issues;
5) Thinking logically and constructively;
6) Unpleasant and loud behavior;
7) Cursing;
8) Becoming angry at someone else who is a bystander instead of at the source of the anger;
9) Expressing unrelated complaints;
10) Throwing objects;
11) Destroying property;
12) Verbal abuse;
13) Emotionally destructive behavior;
14) Physical abuse; and
15) Passive-aggressive behavior.
Note: Dr Campbell did mention a "16" which represents Homicidal attempts, homicidal threats and homicide which is worst but it's not covered in the scope of his book.
Garbage Truck (Story)
.
.
Someone sent me this via email today. I like it so here it is. Basically it helps me in anger management and I hope it helps you too. Good for drivers to remember as well.
Email Title: Wisdom from a Taxi Driver
Email Content:
Good morning Folks!
What a beautiful story on a Wednesday morning! Isn't it true? Sometimes, we are just blinded and we react. Anyway, have a good day!
Blessings!
kh
The Garbage Truck (Story)
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded and missed the other car by just inches!
The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly.
So I asked, "Why did you just do that? That guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" That is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.
Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
So... "Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't."
Life is ten percent of what you make it and ninety percent of how you take it!
Emotions ~ 'Being-Not-Happy' & 'Being-Angry'
by PGA
Many people get the wrong idea that these 2 emotions, 'Being-Not-Happy' & 'Being-Angry', are inter-changeable. I was one of them. This is one step in the positive for my own Anger-Management.
The 2 Emotions:
• Not-happy
• Anger
These 2 emotions are NOT the same.
'Not-Happy' does NOT equal to 'Anger'.
'Not-Happy' equals to 'Sad'.
• It's OK to be 'Not-Happy' (or 'Sad') ;
BUT it's NOT-OK to be 'Angry'.
A Half-Filled Cup of Coffee & a Doughnut
.
A misunderstanding is like --- A Half-Filled Cup of Coffee & a Doughnut --- we may be able to see a cup of coffee that’s half filled; but what they see is a cup of coffee that's half-empty. And while we’re looking at the doughnut, all they’re looking at --- is the hole in the centre. ~ PGA
