The Kelong, The Fishes & The Rats ~ PGA

Kelong in its purest form that only catch fish...
is good clean recreational fun... however...
beware of organisations that promote...
get rich quick, smoking, drinking, gambling
& even gaming... or addiction in any other form.

~~~.
Be careful of syndicates...
that lure unsuspecting people;
they're like a KELONG...
that lures the unsuspecting fishes.
Smell the fishes and you'll smell the rats too.
The rats are the people doing the shady work,
And the fishes are the ones getting caught.
Note:
A Kelong (sometimes spelt Kellong) is a Malay word to describe a form of offshore platform built predominantly with wood, and can be found in waters off Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia, while only a handful remains around Singapore due to rapid urbanisation. Kelongs are built by fishermen primarily for fishing purposes, although larger structures can also function as dwellings for them and their families. They are built without the need for nails, using rattan to bind tree trunks and wooden planks together. Anchored into the sea bed using wooden piles of about 20 metres in length and driven about 6 metres into the sea, they are usually sited in shallow water, although some can be found in deeper waters. Some kelongs are less isolated, and are connected to land via a wooden gangway. Other variants of Kelongs can be mobile, or may involve a large groups of Kelongs joined together into a massive offshore community. In modern Singlish usage, the word kelong is now used as a suggestion of match fixing by referees, in particular in the context of soccer. ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelong
Drug ~ Opium Addiction
Be careful with things that are known to be addictive... be it Drugs, Drinking, Gambling, Smoking or anything else that causes addiction. You'll become a slave to it as it takes over (and rule) your life. Read how the British got a quarter of the male Chinese population addicted to Opium to boost the demand for it so as make money. Currently, there are people out there who are making lots of money from people who are addicted to Drinking, Gambling &/or Smoking.
After 1860, opium use continued to increase with widespread domestic production in China, until more than a quarter of the male population were regular consumers by 1905. China sought to restrict illegal British opium trafficking. It consisted of the First Opium War from 1839 to 1842 and the Second Opium War from 1856 to 1860.
MELBOURNE : A compulsive Australian gambler banned from Sydney's casino blew more than two million dollars (1.5 million US) on the card tables in a neighbouring state in just 43 minutes, a court heard. High-flying property developer Harry Kakavas is suing Melbourne city's Crown Casino in the Supreme Court of Victoria for facilitating his pathological betting, despite knowing he had a problem. Kakavas, 42, was banned by Sydney police from attending the local Star City Casino and he claims the exclusion order should have been enforced Australia-wide, national newswire AAP reported. Instead, his lawyers said rival casino Crown knowingly offered to fly Kakavas to Melbourne on at least 14 occasions and left him gift boxes of 50,000 dollars in "lucky money" on the private jet to help him gamble. During a period of 16 months in 2005 and 2006 Kakavas allegedly turned over 1.5 billion dollars, and was allowed to bet single hands of 300,000 dollars, AAP reported. He lost a total of 30 million dollars, and is suing Crown and its executives for about 20.5 million, AAP said. Crown's lawyer Neil Young said Kakavas was eventually banned from gambling at the casino in August 2006 after losing two million in 43 minutes at the baccarat table. But he rejected claims that Crown had attempted to take advantage of Kakavas. "There was no effort in any sense of the word to lure Mr Kakavas to Crown," Young said. If Crown is found to have breached the Casino Control Act by allowing Kakavas to gamble it could also be liable to pay 700 million dollars in illegally-paid winnings to the Victorian state government. The case continues.
