Here's the detailed process of me composing this Psalm.

I managed to use and Online Music Notator to do this but I'm still in the learning stages.

Original Post:

I don't have my music notation software with me at this moment...
so I've been trying to find ways to notate music when I'm inspired.

I hope I'll be able to understand it when I read it again.

For simplicity this is in C Major.
I may have to change the key later.

Memorial of St. Charbel Makhluf, priest
St. Charbel was a Lebanese monk, born in a small mountain village and ordained in 1858. Devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, he spent the last twenty three years of his life as a hermit. Despitetemptations to wealth and comfort, St. Charbel taught the value of poverty,self-sacrifice and prayer by the way he lived his life.

I've learned that…
I've learned that if I don't correct my mistake, I'll be committing another mistake.

Reading I
Mi 7:14-15, 18-20

Shepherd your people with your staff,
the flock of your inheritance,
That dwells apart in a woodland,
in the midst of Carmel.
Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead,
as in the days of old;
As in the days when you came from the land of Egypt,
show us wonderful signs.

Who is there like you, the God who removes guilt
and pardons sin for the remnant of his inheritance;
Who does not persist in anger forever,
but delights rather in clemency,
And will again have compassion on us,
treading underfoot our guilt?
You will cast into the depths of the sea
all our sins;

You will show faithfulness to Jacob,
and grace to Abraham,
As you have sworn to our fathers
from days of old.

Responsorial Psalm
Ps 85:2-4, 5-6, 7-8

R. (8a) Lord, show us your mercy and love.

You have favored, O LORD, your land;
you have brought back the captives of Jacob.
You have forgiven the guilt of your people;
you have covered all their sins.
You have withdrawn all your wrath;
you have revoked your burning anger.

R. Lord, show us your mercy and love.

Restore us, O God our savior,
and abandon your displeasure against us.
Will you be ever angry with us,
prolonging your anger to all generations?
R. Lord, show us your mercy and love.

Will you not instead give us life;
and shall not your people rejoice in you?
Show us, O LORD, your kindness,
and grant us your salvation.

R. Lord, show us your mercy and love.

Gospel
Mt 12:46-50

While Jesus was speaking to the crowds,
his mother and his brothers appeared outside,
wishing to speak with him.
Someone told him, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside,
asking to speak with you."
But he said in reply to the one who told him,
"Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said,
"Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father
is my brother, and sister, and mother."

reflect
daily reading & meditation

"Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister"

Who do you love and cherish the most? God did not intend for us to be alone, but to be with others. He gives us many opportunities for developing relationshipswith family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Why does Jesus seem to ignore his own relatives when they pressed to see him? His love and respect for his mother and his relatives is unquestionable. Jesus never lost an opportunity to teach his disciples a spiritual lesson and truth about the kingdom of God. On this occasion when many gathered to hear Jesus he pointed to another higherreality of relationships, namely our relationship with God and with those who belong to God.

What is the essence of being a Christian? It is certainly more than doctrine, precepts, and commandments. It is first and foremost a relationship – a relationship of trust, affection, commitment, loyalty, faithfulness, kindness, thoughtfulness, compassion, mercy, helpfulness, encouragement, support, strength, protection, and so many other qualities that bind people together in mutual love and unity. God offers us the greatest of relationships – union of heart, mind, and spirit with himself, the very author and source of love (1John 4:8,16). God's love never fails, never forgets, never compromises, never lies, never lets us down nor disappoints us. His love is consistent, unwavering, unconditional, and unstoppable. Nothing can deter him from everleaving us, ignoring us, or treating us unkindly. He will love us no matterwhat. It is his nature to love. That is why he created us – to be united with him and to share in his love and unity of persons (1 John 3:1). God is a trinity of persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and a community of love. That is why Jesus challenged his followers and even his own earthly relatives to recognize that God is the true source of all relationships. God wants all of our relationships to be rooted in his love.

Jesus is God's love incarnate – God's love made visible in human flesh (1 John 4:9-10). That is why Jesus describes himself as the good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep and the shepherd who seeks out the sheep who have strayed and lost their way. God is like the father who yearns for his prodigal son to return home and then throws a great party for his son when he has a change of heart and comes back (Luke 15:11-32). Jesus offered up his life on the cross for our sake, so that we could be forgiven and restored to unity and friendship with God. It is through Jesus that we become the adopted children of God – his own sons and daughters. That is why Jesus told his disciples that they would have many new friends and family relationships in his kingdom. Whoever does the will of God is a friend of God and a member of his family – his sons and daughters who have been ransomed by the precious blood of Christ.

An early Christian martyr once said that "a Christian's only relatives are the saints" – namely those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ and adopted as sons and daughters of God. Those who have been baptized intoJesus Christ and who live as his disciples enter into a new family, a family of "saints" here on earth and in heaven. Jesus changes the order of relationships and shows that true kinship is not just a matter of flesh andblood. Our adoption as sons and daughters of God transforms all of our relationships and requires a new order of loyalty to God first and to his kingdom of righteousness and peace. Do you want to grow in love and friendship? Allow God's Holy Spirit to transform your heart, mind, and will to enable you to love freely and generously as he loves.

Jon & Easter Vigil 3rd Responsorial Psalm

Yesterday... Tue, Jul 19, 2011 at 8:44 AM, which was the 'Tuesday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time'... we prayed for Jon. Dear Father, we pray that You continue to bless this young man with Your love and comfort him with Your gentle hands whenever he is in pain. Fill his heart with Your joy and happiness so that he may experience them in the special ways only You can deliver. Send Your angels to be by his side and keep him company, talk to him and sing hymns to him. Assure him that You will always be there for him for he is a special child of Yours… Amen.

The Responsorial Psalm was similar to the 3rd Resposorial Psalm we sing during Easter Vigil shown here. The 'Reflection 1: from 'word among us'' was, for me, a suitable "homily" to this Responsorial Psalm.

In the greatness of you glory

Reading I

Ex 14:21-15:1

Moses stretched out his hand over the sea,
and the LORD swept the sea
with a strong east wind throughout the night
and so turned it into dry land.
When the water was thus divided,
the children of Israel marched into the midst of the sea on dry land,
with the water like a wall to their right and to their left.

The Egyptians followed in pursuit;
all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and charioteers went after them
right into the midst of the sea.
In the night watch just before dawn
the LORD cast through the column of the fiery cloud
upon the Egyptian force a glance that threw it into a panic;
and he so clogged their chariot wheels
that they could hardly drive.
With that the Egyptians sounded the retreat before Israel,
because the LORD was fighting for them against the Egyptians.

Then the LORD told Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea,
that the water may flow back upon the Egyptians,
upon their chariots and their charioteers."
So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea,
and at dawn the sea flowed back to its normal depth.
The Egyptians were fleeing head on toward the sea,
when the LORD hurled them into its midst.
As the water flowed back,
it covered the chariots and the charioteers of Pharaoh's whole army
that had followed the children of Israel into the sea.
Not a single one of them escaped.
But the children of Israel had marched on dry land
through the midst of the sea,
with the water like a wall to their right and to their left.
Thus the LORD saved Israel on that day
from the power of the Egyptians.
When Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the seashore
and beheld the great power that the LORD
had shown against the Egyptians,
they feared the LORD and believed in him and in his servant Moses.

Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD:

I will sing to the LORD, for he is gloriously triumphant;
horse and chariot he has cast into the sea.

Responsorial Psalm

Exodus 15:8-9, 10 and 12, 17
R. (1b) Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.

At the breath of your anger the waters piled up,
the flowing waters stood like a mound,
the flood waters congealed in the midst of the sea.
The enemy boasted, "I will pursue and overtake them;
I will divide the spoils and have my fill of them;
I will draw my sword; my hand shall despoil them!"
R. Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.

When your wind blew, the sea covered them;
like lead they sank in the mighty waters.
When you stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them!
R. Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.

And you brought them in and planted them on the mountain of your inheritance—
the place where you made your seat, O LORD,
the sanctuary, O LORD, which your hands established.
R. Let us sing to the Lord; he has covered himself in glory.

Reflection 1:
from 'word among us'

"Then Moses and the Israelites sang… "(Exodus 15:1)

Picture yourself with front-row seats at the final game of the World Cup. People are cheering as the underdog team scores the winning goal. The whole stadium erupts, and you can't contain yourself. Suddenly you are shouting, clapping, giving high-fives to strangers, and waving your banner wildly.

This must have been how the people of Israel felt when they saw the Egyptian army being swallowed up by the sea. The chase was over, and they were now free. They couldn't help but break into celebration!

This is the kind of excitement that Jesus wants to give us every time we recall the salvation he won for us. He wants us to celebrate our freedom from slavery and the promise of eternal life with him. He wants us to clap our hands and shout praises to him because he has defeated the devil and set us free from sin. He wants us to sing and dance because he has rescued us from death.

If you want some idea of what this kind of worship looks like, read chapters four and five of the Book of Revelation. There, we see how all of heaven is filled with singing and rejoicing, with loud acclamations and shouts of praise to God the Father and to Jesus, his Son.

Does your prayer time look like this? If not, it should. Our God is faithful, powerful, loving, and merciful. We have so much to rejoice over, so much to celebrate. We have challenges and problems, too. But nothing is too big for Jesus. Nothing is beyond his ability to intervene. Nothing is so menacing that it can overshadow God's goodness and presence.

So try devoting your prayer today to rejoicing and celebrating. Go ahead and speak words of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord. Sing and clap your hands. You may even want to shout for joy or dance like King David! Even if you don't feel like singing, even if you feel a little silly, try it anyway! Take a few moments to recall all the wondrous things God has done in your life. Think about the ways he has protected you, healed you, or shown you his love, and you'll find reason enough to open your mouth, raise your hands, and shout praises.

(Psalm) Exodus 15:8-10,12,17;
Matthew 12:46-50

Reflection 2:
from 'inspiring women everyday'

What's in a name?
John 20:24–31

'Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"' (v.28)

What's the first word you associate with the name of Jesus' disciple, Thomas? Is it strong, courageous, gentle, fearless? Or doubting? As we read the account of him struggling to believe that Jesus had risen from the dead, do we feel some empathy for him? Do we have times of doubt too?

Thomas had walked alongside Jesus for three years and would have been as intimate with Him as the other disciples. Why then did he doubt the truth, when he knew and loved the Truth?

Thomas actually needs to be respected for his faith. His honest doubts always had a purpose. He was seeking the truth, open about his doubts, and very quick to believe when his questions were answered.

I remember, as a new Christian, attending a Christian basics course. With so many questions needing answers I went on it a second time, in order to understand the answers I'd received but hadn't understood the first time round! My vicar said to my husband, 'I'm so glad Gill came on the course twice, because she asked the questions others didn't dare to ask.'

It's OK to have periods when we struggle in our faith. God won't love us any the less. It is in the struggle that we discover the truth, our faith is strengthened, and we, too, recognise Christ and say, 'My Lord and my God'. Why not find someone you trust and share your doubts, as you seek answers that will strengthen your faith?

What, I wonder, do people think of when they hear our name? Ask God what He associates with yours ... beloved, joy giver, warrior princess, beautiful, faithful, generous? I guarantee that God's word for us will no doubt be wonderful!

Reflection 3:
from 'oxygen'
(Today's OXYGEN by Aloysius Ting)

It was then that Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song in honour of the Lord

I once came home from a Saturday giving a consultation to find that my laptop was not with me. I became flustered as I had made a few stops on my way home and there was a chance I could have left it anywhere. Tracing my steps, I thought the best chance was back in school. Saying a quick pray, I took a cab down. During the ride, I sought intercession from St Jude, the patron of lost and desperate cases. When I reached the table where I was having consultation, my laptop was there, untouched. The first thing I did was SMS my parents to tell them the good news; the next was checking my email. I quickly how horrible I was. I should have thanked God first.

For a long time, I had issue with the Gospel passage. I thought that Jesus was being very rude. Is it not good to see your loved ones coming? Is it not right to greet them? Instead Christ appears to have shunned them. Looking closer though, this is far from the truth. Whenever Christ scolded anyone, He directed the rebuke at them. This time, He addressed not His family but those who pointed them out to Him. Yes, the coming of His family was a happy occasion. However, at that point of time it was more important to focus on Christ's teachings rather than get distracted.  Christ accordingly pointed out how the people had their priorities wrong. The first reading shows how the Israelites got their priorities right. Following their successful crossing and the drowning of the Egyptians, the people of God sang the triumph of the Lord.

When good things happen to us, we naturally want to share the news with those around us, especially our loved ones. There is nothing wrong with this at all. However we need to remember who deserves first honour. In our joy brothers and sisters, may we first of all share our happiness with God from whom all good things come.

It Was Just Like Walking With Jesus

Peggy Ling has done many other things which we found were just too many for one person to do. We are amazed just how much this pint-sized girl with a big heart was able to accomplish despite suffering from her own "terminal" illness. A true saint that we were privileged to walk with. Though my faith in Jesus is not very strong, I am sure this is what it must feel like to walk with Jesus. And Jesus is teaching us how to love one another in the most difficult of situations.

A Sample of Daily Nourishments by Peggy Ling

Peggy prayed everyday via the Daily Nourishments she started... for everyone she knew... the people in her church choir... the people she worked with... in fact, she prayed for everyone she met.
.
Peggy's Daily Nourishments was sent by email every day, for more than 3 years, without fail until  her passing to eternal life. She woke up every morning at 5am to prepare and send it. Exceptions were only if her computer or internet breaks down, or when she's overseas with no access to the internet.
.
Here below, is a sample of her emailed Daily Nourishments. Note that Wednesday, 17 November 2010 was a Public Holiday for Hari Raya Haji.

Reading 1
Rv 4:1-11

I, John, had a vision of an open door to heaven,
and I heard the trumpetlike voice
that had spoken to me before, saying,
"Come up here and I will show you what must happen afterwards."
At once I was caught up in spirit.
A throne was there in heaven, and on the throne sat one
whose appearance sparkled like jasper and carnelian.
Around the throne was a halo as brilliant as an emerald.
Surrounding the throne I saw twenty-four other thrones
on which twenty-four elders sat,
dressed in white garments and with gold crowns on their heads.
From the throne came flashes of lightning,
rumblings, and peals of thunder.
Seven flaming torches burned in front of the throne,
which are the seven spirits of God.
In front of the throne was something that resembled
a sea of glass like crystal.
In the center and around the throne,
there were four living creatures
covered with eyes in front and in back.
The first creature resembled a lion, the second was like a calf,
the third had a face like that of a man,
and the fourth looked like an eagle in flight.
The four living creatures, each of them with six wings,
were covered with eyes inside and out.
Day and night they do not stop exclaiming:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty,
who was, and who is, and who is to come."
Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks
to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
the twenty-four elders fall down
before the one who sits on the throne
and worship him, who lives forever and ever.
They throw down their crowns before the throne, exclaiming:
"Worthy are you, Lord our God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things;
because of your will they came to be and were created."

Ps 150:1b-2, 3-4, 5-6
Responsorial Psalm

R. (1b) Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!

Praise the LORD in his sanctuary,
praise him in the firmament of his strength.
Praise him for his mighty deeds,
praise him for his sovereign majesty.

R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!

Praise him with the blast of the trumpet,
praise him with lyre and harp,
Praise him with timbrel and dance,
praise him with strings and pipe.

R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!
Praise him with sounding cymbals,
praise him with clanging cymbals.
Let everything that has breath
praise the LORD! Alleluia.

R. Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!

Lk 19:11-28
Gospel

While people were listening to Jesus speak,
he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem
and they thought that the Kingdom of God
would appear there immediately.
So he said,
"A nobleman went off to a distant country
to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return.
He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins
and told them, 'Engage in trade with these until I return.'
His fellow citizens, however, despised him
and sent a delegation after him to announce,
'We do not want this man to be our king.'
But when he returned after obtaining the kingship,
he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money,
to learn what they had gained by trading.
The first came forward and said,
'Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.'
He replied, 'Well done, good servant!
You have been faithful in this very small matter;
take charge of ten cities.'
Then the second came and reported,
'Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.'
And to this servant too he said,
'You, take charge of five cities.'
Then the other servant came and said,
'Sir, here is your gold coin;
I kept it stored away in a handkerchief,
for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding man;
you take up what you did not lay down
and you harvest what you did not plant.'
He said to him,
'With your own words I shall condemn you,
you wicked servant.
You knew I was a demanding man,
taking up what I did not lay down
and harvesting what I did not plant;
why did you not put my money in a bank?
Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.'
And to those standing by he said,
'Take the gold coin from him
and give it to the servant who has ten.'
But they said to him,
'Sir, he has ten gold coins.'
He replied, 'I tell you,
to everyone who has, more will be given,
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away.
Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king,
bring them here and slay them before me.'"
After he had said this,
he proceeded on his journey up to Jerusalem.

   WORD AMONG US      http://wau.org/meditations/current/

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty!" (Revelation 4:8)

How amazing heaven must be! In today's first reading, we get only a glimpse of its glory—and a secondhand glimpse at that—and still our hearts thrill. Imagine the throne of God, the twenty-four elders, the four living creatures, the flashes of lightning and peals of thunder. Just try to wrap your mind around the throne of God where, all day and night, an unending stream of worship, adoration, and praise rises up to the Father. And what makes this even more amazing is that all this is going on right now, even as the world continues to spin, as nations rise and fall, as armies amass, and as families the world over experience the ups and downs of life.
Keeping this heavenly reality in our minds can help us find the right balance as we go through our days. Remember: One day, you too will stand before the throne of God. He who has known you from all time will not just sit there unmoved, either. He will rejoice over you!
Even now, God finds great joy in you. He delights in your faith, even as he sees the pockets of unbelief. He rejoices over your courage, your compassion, and your love, even as he sees your struggles with temptation. He enjoys touching your heart, helping you grow in holiness, and giving you a taste of heaven right now. All because he loves you.
There is so much we don't understand about God or heaven. Words alone could never capture divine reality—not even the words of the Bible. But there is one thing we can be sure of: God's love for each and every one of us is firm. It is unchanging. It is foundational to who we are and what we can become. Every hope and dream, every desire and longing, every purpose and goal in our lives finds its ultimate fulfillment in God and in the home he has prepared for us.
So lift up your heart today, no matter what your situation is! Your Father has a perfect plan for you. He rejoices in you now, and he can't wait for the day when you will finally see him face to face!
"Thank you, Father, for your boundless love! As I walk through this day, help me to keep you and your heavenly home in the forefront of my mind."

Real sin, true repentance

'Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.' (v.10)
Psalm 51:1–19

David was an amazing hero – chosen by God in his youth; slaying a giant; resisting the temptation to kill Saul and make himself king; an accomplished musician who wrote uplifting psalms. He trusted God, he loved God … and God loved him.

But David was also an adulterer and a murderer (2 Sam. 11). He forgot about God while he pursued his own desires. But God still loved him. And it was on this great love that David threw himself pleading for God's mercy when the realisation of what he had done finally dawned on him.
David knew that he had sinned against humanity but that, ultimately, he had failed God (v.4). And it broke his heart (v.17). This was no cursory word of repentance. This was genuine grief over his sin. And David knew that God was the only One who could put things right (v.7).
Notice that David doesn't just ask for forgiveness and a restoration of the relationship – he asks to be changed: to have a pure heart created in him so that he isn't tempted to fall again (v.10). David knows that saying sorry is not enough. True repentance means being sorry, and proving it by turning away from the old ways.
But he can't do this alone. He needs the help of the Merciful One, the Great Forgiver. So he pleads with God not to take His Spirit away from him. He needs the support of the Spirit if he is to stay close to God. And a request for forgiveness and for the infilling of the Spirit is one that God will not turn down. He does not despise David's contrition. No wonder David rejoices (vv.14–15)!
Whatever we may have done, whomever we may have hurt, God is still willing and able to forgive and restore us.

A Combination of Prayers For Jonathan Seet ~ by Peggy Ling
(Updated: Tue, 2011 May 31, 1458hrs)
.
Dear Father, with our sincere hearts, by your gentle hands and pure heart, and through the faithfulness of his family, friends and relatives, we pray for this youth who has been in coma since Mar 2009, before his 16th birthday, that he may show some signs of response. You know he has been coma due to a congenital defect that caused his blood vessel in his brain to burst. May his family (especially his parents who are yearning for a hope) and all those that visit him, bring Good News of Your Word, and may he continue to witness the goodness of your Daily Creations through his other senses. We ask that he may smell friendship and love through all the people he meets today.
.
We pray for his parents that they be eased with other matters in their daily lives by the end of each evening, so that they may be recharged, renewed and refreshed the next day to care for their Son. May their hearts to hold dear, your daily promises; when they lose sight of your light, may you send angels to them to comfort and pick them up once again.
.
We pray for his younger sister. Dear Jesus, give her a generous and understanding heart, especially so when her parents have to spend extra time to care for her older brother. May she be filled with prayer, love, compassion and patience, like how she witness of her parents towards her older brother. And may this little child of yours come to share good news of her daily experiences of joyful life with her brother so that he may come to know of your goodness and generosity in granting her abundances of blessings.
.
We pray for the Medical Servants looking after him that they would find joy and satisfaction in doing their job well and may their lives be blessed with peace of mind and good health, so that their gentleness of Care and Love will flow through every stream of blood in him.
.
Amen.

Prayer for a Selfless Person who Suffers

Dear God, our Father...
We pray for this selfless person who prays for others...
... despite suffering the pain of her own illness.
Very saintly... her perseverance... she prays for people's needs...
... more than they pray for their own.
May her Christ-like attitude to her sufferings comfort her...
... and ease her pain as she prays daily for the people around her.
A selfless person going through their own trials & tribulations...
...is an inspiration to all who witness their goodness;
However, we pray that you take this cup from her;
yet not our will, but yours --- be done.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ, Your Son...
...and his loving mother, Mary.
Amen.
