Drug ~ Opium Addiction

Be careful with things that are known to be addictive... be it Drugs, Drinking, Gambling, Smoking or anything else that causes addiction. You'll become a slave to it as it takes over (and rule) your life. Read how the British got a quarter of the male Chinese population addicted to Opium to boost the demand for it so as make money. Currently, there are people out there who are making lots of money from people who are addicted to Drinking, Gambling &/or Smoking.

After 1860, opium use continued to increase with widespread domestic production in China, until more than a quarter of the male population were regular consumers by 1905. China sought to restrict illegal British opium trafficking. It consisted of the First Opium War from 1839 to 1842 and the Second Opium War from 1856 to 1860.

The Opium Wars (simplified Chinese: 鸦片战争; traditional Chinese: 鴉片戰爭; pinyin: Yāpiàn Zhànzhēng), also known as the Anglo-Chinese Wars, were the climax of trade disputes and diplomatic difficulties between China under the Qing Dynasty and the British Empire after China sought to restrict illegal British opium trafficking. It consisted of the First Opium War from 1839 to 1842[1] and the Second Opium War from 1856 to 1860.[2]
