IEC 2016 Hymn - International Eucharistic Congress 2016 http://iec2016.ph/iec2016-hymn/ IEC 2016 Hymn Last October 2013, the IEC Secretariat hosted a nationwide Theme Song Composition Contest as part of the preparations for the upcoming 51st International Eucharistic Congress to be held  in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. The IEC Secretariat commissioned the best Filipino composers especially those who have made it their mission to serve the Church through music. Out of the 20 song entries, the song entitled “Christ in Us, Our Hope of Glory” was chosen as the winning entry. The song is composed by Jay-arr Felisilda Librando, a theology seminarian from Lapu-lapu City, Cebu. 3. With the availability of the 2015 Hindu Almanac, the Hindu Advisory Board (HAB) has confirmed that Deepavali will fall on 10 November 2015 (Tuesday), as previously announced. 
   
   PAYMENT FOR WORK DONE ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY
4. The Ministry would like to remind all employers that under the Employment Act, an employee who is required to work on a public holiday is entitled to an extra day’s salary at the basic rate of pay, in addition to the gross rate of pay for that holiday. The employer and employee may mutually agree to substitute a public holiday for any other day. Employers may also grant time-off-in-lieu to an employee in a managerial or executive position who is required to work on a public holiday, comprising such number of hours as mutually agreed.
   
   PUBLIC HOLIDAYS ON SATURDAYS
5. For public holidays falling on Saturdays, an employee who is not required to work on Saturdays is entitled to claim a day off or compensation in lieu for that public holiday, if the employee is covered under the Employment Act.
6. For more information on the Public Holiday provisions under the Employment Act, please refer to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) website.
