Standing around with nothing to do.
Wait awhile and I'll start moving.
First, I'll Tip-Toe & Wave.
Second, I'll do a Basket-Ball-Jump.
Then, it's a Hands-On-Hip-Pose.
Well, what do you know?

Christmas Tree ~ In The Desert

Here's what a Christmas Tree will look like in the desert.

Psi 'Ψ' & Cactus

The Greek Symbol ‘Ψ’ looks like a cactus in the desert standing alone, does not need much, able to survive for long periods without water due to a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which conserve water. Cactus flowers are large, and many cactus species are night blooming. They’re able to withstand the harsh desert sun & its scorching rays of intense heat. Definitely --- a survivor.
Alt+936=Ψ
Alt+968=ψ
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• ‘Psi’ is the 23RD letter of the Greek Alphabet of 24 letters. Alpha is the 1ST and Omega is the 24TH or Last.
• ‘Psi’ is pronounced as ‘sigh’.
• ‘Psi’ has a numeric value of 700.
• ‘Psi’ is found in Greek Words used in English like ‘psychology’ with the ‘i’ dropped.
• ‘Psi’ in Greek Letters is represented by the symbol ‘Ψ’ in uppercase & ‘ψ’ in lowercase & looks very much like a Cactus.
‘Psi’ Info from Wikipedia: → Psi (uppercase Ψ, lowercase ψ) is the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet and has a numeric value of 700. Greek word "ψάρι" [psári (=fish)]. However, in some languages (including English) this combination is not possible at the beginning of a syllable. In Latin, Greek words beginning with psi are transcribed by ps-, but seem to have been pronounced simply as s-, with a quiescent p. This pronunciation has affected that of Greek loanwords beginning with the letter in several languages. In English, for example, psychology is pronounced with a silent p, and the name of the letter is often pronounced [sai] ("sigh"), although this is not always the case. As a Greek letter: • In physical chemistry, Ψ represents water potential, the potential energy of a water solution relative to pure water; • Ψ stands for psychology and psychologist, often used in the logo of various psychological associations.
‘Cactus’ Info from Wikipedia: → Cacti are distinctive and unusual plants, which are adapted to extremely arid and hot environments, showing a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which conserve water. Their stems have expanded into green succulent structures containing the chlorophyll necessary for life and growth, while the leaves have become the spines for which cacti are so well known. Cacti come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The tallest is Pachycereus pringlei, with a maximum recorded height of 19.2 m, and the smallest is Blossfeldia liliputiana, only about 1 cm diameter at maturity. Cactus flowers are large, and like the spines and branches arise from areoles. Many cactus species are night blooming, as they are pollinated by nocturnal insects or small animals, principally moths and bats. Cacti range in size from small and globular to tall and columnar.
Here’s the Greek Symbol once again → 'Ψ'. Looks like a Cactus plant doesn’t it? Greek already so hard to understand --- what not this Greek Symbol?
Amazing Grace ~ by John Newton (1725-1807)
This is an American Gospel song written by John Newton. Here's a rendition by a group of young American girls called 'The Cactus Cuties'.
Amazing Grace ~ by John Newton (1725-1807) ~ Lyrics
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures.
When we've been here ten thousand years
bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
then when we've first begun
Story ~ An Old Man’s Birthday
http://bill70.multiply.com/journal/item/9
(as retold by William ‘Bill’, link shown above)
The old man woke up early. It was his birthday. "I've got just about everything ready for the kids when they come for my special day. They should get here about noon." He had plenty of food for lunch, and the kinds of drinks he knew they liked. Noon came and went, but the doorbell didn't ring, the phone was silent. "They must have had to detour around that roadwork up north," he thought. "Probably be here by two." About three he wondered what might be keeping them. “I better cover that birthday cake so it'll still be fresh for them when they get here. We can have it for supper desert." He sat on the front porch the rest of the afternoon, where he would be able to see their car making the turn down by the old schoolhouse. "They'll probably be too tired to go out to eat when they get here after such a rough day on the road," he thought. "I better get some things ready for them to have here." Time flew by while he puttered in the kitchen. Only when he noticed it was getting dark outside did he realize it was well past supper time. He sat in the lounge chair by the front door with the window partly open so he would hear them when they pulled in the driveway. When he woke up it wasn't his birthday any more.
Guardian Angels
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven." ~ Matthew 18:10
Guardian Angel, protect us all
Giving Strength, when we might fall
Watching guiding, lighting the way
Through the night, and every day
Car ~ Manual Gear ~ Learning From Mistakes
Here’s a Quote:
"You can learn from your mistakes BUT, It's even better to learn from other people's mistakes." ~ Unknown
2008Dec05, Friday, 0830hrs → I've just witness something we could all learn from. This guy got into the van (a Company-Van shared by many), started it, it moved back suddenly and rammed into a huge pipe creating a dent in the bumper. The van was a Manual-Transmission-Gear (MTG) vehicle. He got out and blamed the driver before him for leaving it in reversed gear. He was then puzzled that the car could move even with the hand-brake pulled up. He was lucky that there was nobody between the rear of the van & the huge pipe. This guy is in his 50s with many years driving experience. This shows that there’s such a thing as False-Security which grows with experience.
Here are the facts:
It is the driver’s responsibility to check that the car is in neutral-gear before starting the car.
Parking the car in gear is NOT a mistake. It is a common practice with some drivers to park their cars with the either the 1ST-Gear or Reversed-Gear in. There are 2 reasons for this.
1) It makes the car a little more difficult to steal by towing it away and
2) It prevents the car from rolling forward or backward when parked on the slope because the hand-brake is not very strong.
