My ramblings... please don't ask me... actually this blog post is about how I got to know about this guy, 'John Farnham' and 'Please Don't Ask Me' is the title of the song he was singing. All I know... for now... is that this guy is really very funny, a well rounded entertainer and singer with a voice that has fantastic vocal agility. I'm going to find out more about him. He's a real good Pop-Tenor in my book.

This is really strange... how I sometimes find interesting songs and singers. I was searching for "Why is it difficult to wash oil or grease off plastic?" and I remembered 'Don't Ask Me' a program on TV answering this question and so... I decided to google for it. Burnt Biscuits ~ A Story on Love and the 'Concept of God'

Someone just sent me this via email.

It's a story on love and the 'Concept of God'.

Is your 'Concept of God'... ONLY... to grant your wishes? Or is it more than that?

I like the 'Concept of God' suggested in this story where ~ "[God is] ... the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!"

I know I'll have to get pass the 'Concept of God' because the the 'Concept of God' is only just... MY... 'Theory of Evolution'.

Now... all I need to do is to get pass the "Concept of" and to really get to know "God". Who is HE? What more can I do to know him better? What more must I do that I have not already done? I'm limited. The ball is on HIS side of the court. Maybe it's not my time yet... but till then... I'll just have to be contented with just the 'Concept of God'... and I must say that... the 'Concept of God' does excite me... for now.

I've learnt that...

a concept is only an onset of what I feel to be real, and the

"Concept of God" is the only think that excites me, for now.

I'm looking forward to when it will no longer be... a concept.

I know that this will happen... although I do not know when.

The Burnt Biscuits (Story)

When I was a kid, my mom would prepare special breakfast every now and then. And I remember one night in particular, after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: Honey, I love burned biscuits.

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.

He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone! You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like some people do. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other?s faults - and choosing to celebrate each other?s differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship."

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!

Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own.

This video has got me thinking... while singing... should we breath through the mouth or nose?

I've heard 3 different answers from a few Vocal Coaches and I'm sure most of you must have as well.

The different answers are...

1)... mouth

2)... nose

3)... both

... the 3rd answer... then... blew me away... then... for I thought, this was a clever answer... then.

This video is more about the advantages for breathing through the nose.

Before this video... I prefer breathing through the mouth... reason... it's a quicker... so quick that I've decided to use it most of the time... then.

Now... after this video... I've decided that my first choice will be to breath through the nose most of the time and only to breath through the mouth when it's really necessary.

Breathing through the nose is the most natural way to breath. It has natural built-in mechanisms to filter and process the air we need to live and yes, sing.

The 3rd answer is still the best... "3)... both"... but... try to go more for the nose... it's only natural. I'll try to as well... and sorry... there are no straight answers... it all really depends.

Finding The Right Person And Being The Right Partner

solely interested in finding the right person in life,

instead of... working on being the right partner.

Here're some things to think about when looking for... or getting into a relationship. I found this quote by and unknown person... "It's not about finding the right person, but being the right partner". I'm all for this statement.

Marilyn Monroe was reported to have said... "I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best". How true... BUT... I'd advice on being very careful with people who are solely interested in finding the right person in life, instead of... working on being the right partner.

The proceeding statement (by an unknown person) I found on the internet says it best..."Most marriages break up because people think their partner is the problem. There is an adage that says "two wrongs cannot make a right". Relationships do not start at perfection, but they are purposed to make us work towards it. A man and woman in any relationship are supposed to learn from one another, complement each other and thereby improving the lives of one another and becoming better individuals for their families and the society as a whole. No man, however intelligent and well situated in life, can know his areas of weaknesses until it's pointed out to him by the woman, and the same thing applies to the woman. If the man or the woman both make good efforts to become better, for example... by openly accepting loving, fair, and well-thought out criticisms from one another, instead of wasting time looking for "Mr or Miss Right", our relationships will be a whole lot more rewarding and happy than what it is today".

Here... these are mostly not my words... but I approve the message it conveys.

I needed to convert a Midi File to an MP3 File so I googled and found this Website that did a good job. No need to download any software. Very Easy.

But what I found interesting was the logo. Firstly, I like logos... but secondly... what was more interesting was that the Midi File I was trying to convert had something to do with Solfege (Solfa or Do-Re-Mi) and the Logo had something to do with Solfege.

My sister sent me a quote and I'm reminded of what Dad had to say about flying kites. He loved flying kites... or more like... fighting kites. He'd buy the strings, line it with glue mixed with broken glass (from florescent tubes), dry it in the sun... and then when it's ready... to test fighting it with other kite-fighters. The kites are fought so high in the air that the adversaries or opponents never actually see each other because they're very far away from one another.

I remember him saying...

"Bringing up children is like flying a kite... you've got to know when to pull and when to let go."

Sometimes he'll say it in Singlish...

"Bringing up children... like flying kite... you've must know when to (h)ulur and when to tarik."

(note... '(h)ulur' and 'tarik' are Malay words for 'release' and 'pull')

One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.

He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"

The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean."

"I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."

The disciple walked up to the lake. At that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy and turbid. The disciple thought, "How can I give this muddy water to my master to drink?"

So he came back and told his master, "The water in there is very muddy. I don't think it is fit to drink."

After about half an hour, again the Religious Teacher asked the same disciple to go back to the lake.

The disciple went back, and found that the water was still muddy. He returned and informed the Religious Teacher the same thing.

After sometime, again the Religious Teacher asked the same disciple to go back.

This time, the disciple found the mud had settled down, and the water was clean and clear. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to his master.

The Religious Teacher looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said," See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be, and the mud settled down on its own... and now we have clear water.

Your mind is like that too ! When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. It will happen.

Having 'Peace of Mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process!

SEOUL: Unflattering paparazzi photos of the popular Korean girl group SNSD in a plane cabin have caused a stir amongst their fans, reported Korean media.

The photos, which were recently published in a Hong Kong tabloid, showed SNSD's Jessica stretched out in her seat, with one foot on the back of the seat in front of her.

They also showed Sooyoung asleep with her mouth open while Yoona wolfed down some food.

Many SNSD fans have expressed outrage online that the paparazzi had invaded the group's privacy and had taken unflattering photos of them, but some said it was refreshing to see their idols at their most natural.

SNSD is one of the most successful K-pop girl groups in Korea and routinely plays to sell out crowds in concerts across the region.

Somethin' Smith and the Redheads were an American vocal group doing mostly pop standards in the 1950s. Their biggest hit single was "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie" in 1955, which reached #7 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Using the Firefox browser and Mac OS X v. 10.6.8, I'm trying to move an email from Trash to Inbox. I check the box next to the sender's name, click Move to but the dropdown menu now only gives me the choices of: a blank field, Personal, Receipts, Travel, Work, Spam, Create new, and Mange labels. Aren't these Labelschoices and why are they now displayed under Move to? How do I move an email from Trash to Inbox?

You should get a "Move to Inbox" option under the labels, unless the messages already have the Inbox label. (That can happen if they were deleted through IMAP.) If you don't get a 'Move to Inbox' option, move them to another label instead, the remove that label. (You can create a temporary label for that.)

I appreciate your reply. I was not familiar with the IMAP protocol but, after doing some research, I assume that the e-mails in question were deleted by another user (in this case, my wife) using a different server (she's out of town and using another person's computer. This is the first time we've done this without our own computer). The result, as you explained, in trying to move any of those e-mails from Trash to Inbox, is that the Move to choices no longer include Inbox. I have found two ways to easily move those e-mails fromTrash to Inbox:

• First,

as you recommended, I am able to move them from Trash to Spam as Spam is one of the choices under Move to. Then, in Spam, I check the box to the left of the e-mail, click on Not spam and the e-mail is automatically moved to the Inbox.

• Second,

I now see that those e-mails in Trash that were deleted there through IMAP now display the wordInbox just before the subject of the e-mail. By checking the box to the left of the e-mail and then clicking on that word Inbox on the subject line, the e-mail is displayed with two new boxes located to the right of the subject. The first box reads "Inbox | X" and the second box reads "Trash | X." By clicking on the X after the word Trash, the entire e-mail is moved from Trash to Inbox.

My problem has been solved and my knowledge has been increased. Many thanks, B kennelly, for your help.

SINGAPORE: It was hard to miss Singapore actor Terence Cao's bandaged and braced right hand ring finger, when he appeared during the press event for the currently airing Lunar New Year drama "Double Bonus".

The actor revealed that he hurt his finger while shooting the drama some time ago, but only realized how serious it was much later when he went to see a doctor.

"I hurt my finger when I was trying to close a window while shooting. The window got jammed and I pulled harder, then it suddenly closed and my finger got crushed between the between the window and the window sill.

"I thought it was nothing, just a sprain and went to a Chinese medicine practitioner to massage it. But when the swelling refused to go away after two, three weeks, I felt it was strange and got an X-ray," said Cao.

"The doctor later told me the ligaments were torn and the bone was cracked."

"I'm going to have to carry this brace over the Lunar New Year," said Cao with a laugh, joking that at least he now has something to talk about when he meets his relatives during the Lunar New Year season.

However, Cao said the pain he felt because of his injured finger was insignificant compared to the joy of acting opposite veteran actress Zoe Tay in "Double Bonus", a Lunar New Year drama about how the appearance of two immortals wreak havoc and yet bring happiness to the Jins, a family of bak kwah (sweet roasted pork) sellers.

"This is a mere injury, but the show was a good chance to work with Zoe Tay and my old friends. It is a joy to work with her (Tay). It was easy to forget the injury.

"This is the first time I am playing her onscreen husband, especially someone who is married to her for ten years," Cao gushed.

"It's very different from playing lovers or a newly married couple. In the show, we deal with a lot of sensitive issues like how to have kids, how to have relations… It's not something you get to do in every show."

Who is Zoe Tay, really?

Cao went on to express that he finally saw the true face of long-time colleague Zoe Tay when they worked together in "Double Bonus".

"You know, I think everyone had been cheated over the past 20 years. People always have this impression that Caldecott Queen Zoe Tay is a mature, elegant star.

"But she is actually very lively and playful off camera. This is a side of her that few people get to see."

"When we speak, when we share meals together, you really can't tell she is married with three kids already," said Cao with a smile, adding that the only thing people have gotten right about Tay is that she is a natural at acting.

"Very often when we are shooting, the actors are really nervous, but Zoe is really relaxed and it shows her acting ability.

"While everyone else is worried about forgetting their lines, she is able to still pay attention to other fine details like the arrangement of the props on the set and so on," said Cao.

"Double Bonus" airs every weeknight, 9pm on Channel 8.
